Successful implementation of frac flowback water recycling will minimize water use, water acquisition costs, disposal costs, and truck traffic.

Reuse of frac flowback water will also reduce competition for fresh water resources and/or conserve it for other beneficial uses. Fresh water is critical to energy development and conserving its use is highly desirable.

This will promote the good will with others who rely on fresh water for domestic, agricultural and other purposes, as well as promote the oil and gas industry. This will bring together each sector as good corporate neighbors and citizens.
Flow-back water has a very different chemical and physical composition that he initial water use in the fracturing process. It is not easily treated to a condition allowing it to release into the environment. It is difficult to reuse the flow-back in the same type of fracturing process without treatment.

In an effort to help meet growing demands being placed on available water supplies, many communities throughout the US and the world are turning to water reclamation and reuse. Water reclamation and reuse offer an effective means of conserving our limited high quality freshwater supplies, while helping to meet the ever growing demands for water.
